Artificial Intelligence Used to Tell Data-Driven Stories

The investigative journalism nonprofit ProPublica has updated its Opportunity Gap news application, which lets users see how equal access to education is in their state, by using artificial intelligence platform Narrative Science to create short narrative descriptions of the more than 52,000 schools in its database. The effort demonstrates the possibilities of using algorithmic story generation to make data tell stories.
