200,000 Affordable Rental Units Lost Each Year to Demolition

Nearly 200,000 rental housing units are lost from the nation’s housing supply each year due to demolition, according to a MacArthur-funded report by Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies. The new annual report said such losses significantly reduce the number of affordable units for low- and moderate-income families in the U.S.
