Moyers & Company is a weekly public affairs program that features veteran broadcast journalist Bill Moyers in conversation with a range of public figures, from sociologists and historians to politicians and poets discussing issues of critical importance to American democracy. In 2014, Moyers & Company will continue as a weekly half-hour show for public television, complimented by daily distribution of content via its website, social media sources, and a radio show and audio podcast. The proposed grant would allow WNET.ORG, a public television station in New York, to produce the 2014 season of Moyers & Company.

Need to Know is a weekly news and public affairs program produced by WNET, the public television station in New York City. It is broadcast nationally Friday nights on PBS. Through investigative reports and explanatory journalism, Need to Know reports on how policies made in Washington affect the lives of people around the United States. The program also reports on local innovations with the potential to be scaled up. Need to Know’s investigative reporting has been used by policymakers to demonstrate the necessity of reforms.
