WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Council of Large Public Housing Authorities is a national nonprofit organization that aims to preserve and improve public and affordable housing through advocacy, research, policy analysis and education. This grant supports efforts to advance partnerships between housing providers and educators in order to improve educational outcomes for low-income children. Specifically, the grant will increase and strengthen data sharing and evaluation between public housing authorities, nonprofit housing owners and school systems; build a knowledge base of best practices and innovations; and develop three in-depth case studies where housing entities and school systems are integrating efforts and interventions to improve low-income children’s educational achievement.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded Council of Large Public Housing Authorities $200,000 between 1978 and 2017.
