    ENCINO, CALIFORNIA — The Institute for Nonprofit News (INN) is a national membership organization supporting the growing set of nonprofit news organizations in the United States. It provides a mix of direct services, training programs, and field-building activities to strengthen the nonprofit and independent news sector. Shared media liability insurance, business and technology workshops, and opportunities to network and learn from peers are some of INN’s most valued services. In six years, the organization has grown from 20 to over 120 members. This award provides general operating support to INN as it deepens its role as a critical resource for both start-up and more mature nonprofit newsrooms.
