The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), formerly known as Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism, is a Nigerian nonprofit organization dedicated to media innovation, independent media, human rights, anti-corruption, and accountability in West Africa. The previous award to CJID enabled the tracking of state-level corruption involving public procurement and abandoned projects, which were completed following the investigations; fact-checking of misinformation and disinformation; and training young journalists. This final award to CJID strengthens investigative reporting on corruption, data journalism, and fact-checking to counter mis- and disinformation. It expands training, coaching, and mentoring for a new generation of investigative journalists, as well as internships and learning for trainees and volunteers from across newsrooms, universities, and journalism training schools. Further, the award enables CJID to convene a national conference on investigative journalism for learning and networking and setting up an observatory to document attacks on the press and support campaigns for protection of the press in Nigeria. CJID mainstreams gender equality and social inclusion, collaboration, and coordination throughout the project design and implementation to maximize its impact. The award is expected to contribute to On Nigeria's goal of reducing corruption and strengthening accountability, transparency, and participation.

Founded in 2014, the Premium Times Center for Investigative Journalism (PTCIJ) is a nongovernmental organization that seeks to promote an independent media landscape that advances human rights, good governance and accountability through investigative journalism, open data, and civic technology. PTCIJ is advancing a new agenda of civic engagement for Nigerian youth through collaboration, technology, and entertainment. Under this award, PTCIJ collaborates with informal, youth-led organizations such as the #Nottooyoungtorun, WeMoveNaija, We2geda, as well as individual members of the former Feminist Movement to pilot a young peoples’ civic engagement drive at the national and state levels. This effort addresses one of the shortcomings of the #ENDSARS movement - the lack of a clear agenda and exit strategy. To this end, PTCIJ works with youth organizations and individuals to leverage the power of technology and entertainment to achieve its goals. It collaborates with technology companies and influencers in the entertainment industry to amplify youth civic engagement in Nigeria. PTCIJ also facilitates trainings on accountability and community building, as well as high-level town hall meetings on youth participation in politics and governance.
