Blair Thomas & Company is a Chicago-based theater company that creates and performs contemporary puppetry and visual theater locally, nationally, and internationally. It is organizing the second biannual Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival that will take place between January 19 and 29, 2017. The Festival will include performances for the general public, professional development for artists, hands-on workshops, family events, and discussions – all focused on the form and tradition of puppetry, a genre that bridges theater, visual arts, dance, and music. Activities will feature local and international experts and artists selected by a curatorial committee of Chicago arts leaders, and will be presented by Chicago arts venues such as the Museum of Contemporary Art. This grant supports Blair Thomas & Company in organizing the Festival.

Blair Thomas & Co. is a Chicago-based theater company that creates and performs contemporary puppetry and visual theater locally, nationally, and internationally. It is organizing the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival scheduled for January 16-25, 2015. The Festival will present performances, hands-on workshops, family events, and discussions around the form and tradition of puppetry, bridging theater, sculpture, visual arts, dance and music, and incorporating both artistic and academic events. A curatorial committee of leading Chicago arts organizations will select and present the works and artists that will be part of the Festival.
