Chicago Moving Company is a modem dance company in Chicago whose repertoire includes abstract movement works and original music. This funding supports Chicago Moving Company's exchange with Saiko Kino Dance in Sapporo, Japan. Through this exchange, Chicago Moving Company dancers will complete a two-week residency and performance with Saiko Kino Dance in Sapporo, and Saiko Kino will complete a one-week residency and performance with Chicago Moving Company in Chicago. The goal of the exchange is the development of a new collaborative, cross-cultural dance to be performed in Chicago and Sapporo, Japan. This grant funds project expenses for travel, accommodations, artist fees, marketing, and productions. It is recommended as part of the International Connections Fund.
