Girls' Secondary Education in Developing Countries
BANGALORE, INDIA — Educational Initiatives (EI), a research firm in India, will conduct a benchmarking study of 9th and 10th grade students from government and affordable private schools in India. The purpose of the study is to assess reading and math achievement as students enter and leave lower secondary school in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. Although EI and the Government of India conduct other large-scale assessments of student learning, this is the first time such a test will be administered in these states to secondary school students who attend government and affordable private schools.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded Educational Initiatives $280,000 between 1983 and 2015.
