SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND — In support of the Committee for Immigration Reform Implementation.
2014 (Inactive Grant)
SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND — This grant will support the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) in coordinating immigrant service organizations to strengthen a national, non-governmental infrastructure to implement a future immigration law. The planning will focus on the potential for legalization of the nation’s 11 to 12 million undocumented immigrants. CLINIC will convene a steering committee and several issue-focused working groups to address the core elements necessary to successfully implement new policies. The working groups address human resources, communications, regional collaboration, technology, and training and technical assistance.
2012 (Inactive Grant)
SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND — This grant to the Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC) will support a coordinated effort to address the rising number of unaccompanied immigrant children who seek legal protection in the United States each year. CLINIC, in coordination with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) and the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies at UC Hastings School of Law, will expand training programs for pro bono attorneys, provide technical assistance in individual cases, and track cases nationwide. This joint effort will identify trends and inform policy makers seeking to improve the protection regime for unaccompanied immigrant children in the United States.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded Catholic Legal Immigration Network $540,000 between 1983 and 2015.
