The Akanksha Fund is a US public charity that supports the work of the Akanksha Foundation in India, a non-profit organization that  operates after-school programs and charter schools for low-income students. The Akanksha Foundation has incubated the India School Leadership Institute (the Institute) over the past two years with seed funds from the MacArthur Foundation and the Marshall Family Foundation. The Institute is one of the few organizations in India to focus on developing the skills of current school leaders to deliver high academic achievement in low-income schools. The Institute seeks tie-off funds to scale its school leadership program to 750 government and budget private schools across seven cities.

The Akanksha Fund is the US 501c3 fundraising arm of the Akanksha Foundation in India, a non-profit organization that runs after school programs as well as charter schools for low-income students in Pune and Mumbai. The Akanksha Foundation is leading a partnership that will create an Indian School Leadership Institute, which will train a new generation of school leaders in order to improve learning outcomes among low income children. In the pilot phase, the project will focus on urban areas in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Delhi.
