Grants to ACTION-Housing

  • $300,000

    2012 (Inactive Grant)

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA — ACTION-Housing, Inc. empowers people to build more secure and self-sufficient lives through decent, affordable housing. Pennsylvania recently mandated that its utilities procure more energy efficiency to significantly reduce electricity consumption in the coming years, and to enable affordable rental housing to take advantage of this, a new entity is needed to help utilities understand how to deliver their services to government-assisted housing and engage owners about how to best plan and undertake energy conservation measures that ensure long-term affordability. This grant funds the development of a new social enterprise exclusively focused on providing energy efficiency services to the affordable rental housing sector.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded ACTION-Housing $300,000 between 1978 and 2017.
