The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) was established in 2000 with a mandate to educate about, prohibit, detect, investigate, and prosecute corrupt practices and related offenses. It offers protection for whistleblowers, educates, and enlightens the public about corruption and related offenses with a view to enlisting and fostering public support for the fight against corruption. The Commission is repositioning itself by strengthening the capacity of its staff, the Office of the Chair, and the Commission's research and teaching academy; developing anti-corruption measures linked to e-Government standards; enforcing audit results of government ministries and departments to improve budget transparency and accountability; and providing continuous support to the office of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC).
