2021 (3 years)
$1,500,000

The U.S. Climate Action Network (USCAN) supports more than 194 U.S.-based civil society organizations that represent the broad diversity of the environmental movement from national to community-based organizations. USCAN is one of several regional affiliates with operations in over 90 countries that help promote government, private sector, and individual action to limit human-induced climate change to ecologically sustainable levels. Impacts of climate change are being felt disproportionately by poor and working-class communities, and communities of color across the United States and globally. Equipping community-based organizations with a supportive peer network, technical assistance, and resources to engage in policy debates can help foster more effective education campaigns about climate change’s impact and coordination with traditional environmental groups on advancing national climate policy. The award supports USCAN’s general operations.
