Founded in 2003, Voter Participation Center (VPC) is a national nonprofit civic engagement organization that works to ensure the New American Majority (NAM)—people of color, young people, and unmarried women—engage in democracy equal to their presence in society through voter registration, mobilization, and education. VPC primarily uses direct mail and digital platforms in metrics-driven, targeted programming steeped in research and learning about the populations it serves. In doing so, it partners with election officials to ensure that its mailings are accurate to complement existing outreach and awareness-raising efforts that election officials themselves are engaged in. VPC is data-oriented and collaborative in pursuit of high impact. They are committed to continuous innovation, evolution, experimentation and the development of new approaches grounded in analysis in partnership with local, state and national civic engagement efforts to help maximize the full voting potential of the NAM. This award is in support of general operations.
