The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is charged by the State of Illinois to enhance the lives of citizens in Illinois, across the nation, and around the world through leadership in learning, discovery, engagement, and economic development. The University of Illinois Foundation is the legal entity that receives gifts to the University of Illinois. It works closely with alumni, faculty, corporations, and foundations to support the University of Illinois system. Launched in 2023, Innovate Illinois assists Illinois-based companies and nonprofit organizations to compete for federal grants and contracts. Innovate Illinois is especially focused on funds made available via federal laws enacted to support COVID-19 pandemic recovery and to invest in the nation’s infrastructure. With this award, the University of Illinois Foundation supports the staffing needs of Innovate Illinois.
