The University of Illinois, founded in 1867 and based in Urbana-Champaign, is charged by the state to enhance the lives of citizens in Illinois, across the nation, and around the world through leadership in learning, discovery, engagement, and economic development. The University’s College of Education holds the Center for Culturally Responsive Evaluation and Assessment (CREA), an international community of scholars and practitioners that exists to promote a culturally responsive stance in all forms of systematic inquiry including evaluation, assessment, policy analysis, applied research and action research. This grant provides CREA with flexible support.
To test in Illinois the efficacy of the early literacy program developed at Ohio State University (over two years).
