The Legal Research Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico is one of Mexico’s oldest and most prestigious academic institutions for legal research. It aims to contribute to solving social and political problems through international and national law. With this award, the Legal Research Institute is partnering with three other academic institutions to create the Repository for Documentation on Disappearances in Mexico. The Repository will hold information gathered by a range of actors including victims and their families, human rights lawyers, activists, and journalists. It will include formal and informal print, visual, audio, and digital evidence that can be used to facilitate access to truth and justice. The repository aims to provide Mexico with tools for preserving this documentation for future use.
