2015 (4 years)
$625,000

TimeLine Theatre presents plays inspired by history that connect with today’s social and political issues. It is a 10-person company that performs most of its fully-staged shows in a 99-seat theater. It also operates a theater and history education program in Chicago Public Schools called the Living History Education Program. It has been repeatedly recognized for its artistic excellence. A MacArthur Award recognizes organizations that have excellent programs, that are well-managed, and that are at an inflection point, where they are likely to grow either in size or influence. TimeLine Theatre will allocate most of the Award to a reserve fund; it will use a smaller portion for technology improvements and upgrades.
