The Stephen C Rose Legacy Foundation, known as The Steve Fund, is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the mental health and emotional well-being of young people, particularly those from under-served and under-resourced communities. Through partnerships with education, business, and researchers, it seeks to identify and address barriers to mental health and emotional well-being for young people during critical moments of transition – from adolescence into higher education, through college, and into the workforce. The Steve Fund promotes strategies and programs to build understanding, provide support, and improve outcomes so that all young people can attain personal, academic, and career success. This award is a gift of general support.
The Steven C. Rose Legacy Fund (the Steve Fund) is the nation’s leading organization focused on supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of young people of color. Founded in 2014, it partners with nonprofits, community organizations, and higher education institutions to offer professional learning experiences for administrators, educators, youth development workers, police, and others who wish to increase their awareness and gain skills to support the mental health and well-being of young people of color. It also hosts student workshops designed to equip high school and college-age students of color with the knowledge and skills to maintain positive mental health and well-being throughout their life transitions and their academic pursuits. This grant supports the general operations of the Steve Fund and enables it to scale its offerings by transitioning its programming and resources to a digital platform. This will enable the Steve Fund to reach more youth, educators and service providers where they are, and help to strengthen the national infrastructure designed to meet the health and wellness needs of youth of color in this country.
