Signature Development and Media Foundation

Signature Development and Media Foundation (SDMF), an arm of Signature Communications Limited, is a Nigerian nonprofit dedicated to promoting professionalism, training, research, and innovation in broadcast media and journalism. The previous award to Signature Communications Limited promoted accountability through local language investigative journalism of corruption cases. The work focused on the southeastern part of Nigeria, where independent media is absent. They succeeded in building anti-corruption constituencies among community leaders and students. With this final tie-off award, SDMF opens a broadcasting bureau in the southeast to strengthen the skills of journalists, amplify investigative reports on corruption, and share anti-corruption success stories in communities. Corruption Tori, its flagship program, continues to galvanize community voices against corruption. SDMF documents its work by publishing investigative results on corruption and anti-corruption successes, and shares its publications and documentaries through traditional and social media. Finally, SDMF invests in organizational development to promote institutional resilience and sustainability after the On Nigeria program ends. The implementation of the project will be coordinated with other Foundation grantees. The award contributes to Nigeria's goal of reducing corruption and strengthening accountability, transparency, and participation.
