A previous Foundation award enabled SceneOne Productions to use its popular television comedy Jenifa's Diary to sensitize and galvanize the Nigerian public to act on corruption. With this final award, SceneOne uses humor and satire to target specific corrupt behaviors. It crafts accountability messages that galvanize public awareness and agency focused on women, the poor, young people, and persons with disabilities across 24 episodes of Jenifa's Diary. SceneOne takes advantage of television and smartphones to reach tens of millions of Nigerians in-country and abroad with its anti-corruption-themed programming. This award contributes to On Nigeria's overarching goal of reducing corruption and strengthening accountability, transparency, and participation.
