San Antonio Area Foundation

Since 1964, the San Antonio Area Foundation (Area Foundation) has been trusted by donors to manage and distribute over $800 million in funds for education scholarships, environmental preservation, animal services, research, and impact areas that focus on improving the quality of life for people living in and around San Antonio. In April 2024, the Area Foundation established the first Press Forward local chapter in Texas. This grant supports Press Forward San Antonio’s workto develop a more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive local news and information ecosystem in the South Central Texas region.
