Grants

2021 (1 year)
$100,000

Founded in 2002 by tribal organizations and funders to address the disparity in philanthropic giving to Indigenous communities, Potlatch Fund is a Native-led nonprofit that provides grants, training, technical assistance, and leadership development opportunities to Tribes, Native communities, and Native nonprofits throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. The organization developed from a series of talking circles comprised of Northwest Tribal leaders and Native activists. Its core goals are: (1) providing capacity building and leadership development services to Tribes and Native nonprofits; (2) educating the non-Native and funding communities about the needs, issues, and structures that exist within Indian Country; and (3) running grant programs that further Potlatch Fund's mission of preserving Native traditions and empowering communities. This grant provides general operating support to Potlatch Fund.
