The Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE) works, as it has for the last decade, toward balanced growth and shared prosperity in Georgia and the American South by helping local communities advocate more effectively for themselves regarding relevant state and local economic issues, including energy policy. Major changes to how energy is generated, delivered, and used is providing states with new policy options regarding economic development and environmental stewardship. Too often, low-income communities of color are ill-equipped for and underrepresented in these discussions, despite bearing an inequitable proportion of negative impacts due to energy policies and climate change. PSE builds local capacity for advocacy, helps bridge the gap between community advocates and policy experts, and collaborates with regional and national partners to advance energy policies that promote inclusive, quality growth and regional competitiveness. This award for general operating support helps expand the Partnership's statewide and regional efforts to strengthen the capacity of community-based organizations advocating for climate solutions.
