Out of State LLC

Out of State LLC will produce the documentary film Out of State, directed by Ciara Lacy, which follows native Hawaiian inmates who are sent to a private prison in Arizona, and the experiences of their families in Hawaii. In response to this displacement, a group of over 100 native Hawaiian male inmates practice hula every day in the prison’s recreation yard, a means of maintaining their cultural heritage and working to rehabilitate their relationships with their families.
