Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund

The Nigeria Women Trust Fund (NWTF) was founded in 2011 as an inclusive political participation resource organization to close gender gaps in the democratic process. With this discretionary award, NWTF harnesses young people's energy positively following the 2023 Nigeria general elections, which recorded more young people's participation but disillusionment with the outcome. The award helps reduce possible violence, increases advocacy on the positive role of young people in civic engagement, and strengthens the accountability skills of newly-elected young legislators. This award advances gender equity and social inclusion and builds young people's leadership skills. The award affirms a commitment to gender equity, social inclusion, and the Foundation's Just Imperative in Nigeria.
