Native Americans in Philanthropy (NAP), founded in 1994 and based in Washington, D.C., works to promote equitable and effective philanthropy in Native communities and to advance philanthropic practices grounded in Native values and traditions. The Tribal Nations Funding Collaborative (Fund) is an effort to catalyze resources and create a centralized platform to inform, coordinate, and fund Tribal Nation work in support of a collaborative and inclusive approach to protecting land and water. The Fund directly supports Tribes, inter-Tribal organizations, and Tribal consortia ensuring critical funding to Native-led land and water stewardship initiatives. This grant provides support to the Tribal Nations Funding Collaborative.

Native Americans in Philanthropy partners with Indigenous Energy Initiative to organize a convening in Minneapolis, MN between tribes and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to discuss the challenges tribes have faced in implementing renewable energy projects. This convening supports the equitable implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act, as it allows FERC to hear directly from tribes about their previous and anticipated transmission and interconnection challenges, and the barriers tribes are facing and will face in the absence of supportive policy and utility reform.
