The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (also known as the Legal Defense Fund “LDF”) uses the power of law, narrative, and research to defend the humanity and advance the rights of Black people in America. For 85 years, it has fought to achieve the project of a multi-racial, multi-ethnic democracy that serves all Americans. In the current moment, LDF will advance a threefold approach to safeguarding and re-envisioning US democracy: Defend (litigation, policy advocacy, community organizing); Disrupt (challenging executive orders, filing amicus briefs, educating the public, collaboration with a diverse network of coalitions); and Dream (building a dedicated team to do forward-looking work)
