LION Publishers (LION) is a journalism organization that supports over 500 local independent newsrooms (for profit and non-profit) with a focus on sustainability, training and growth. It works to scale and strengthen community-centered newsrooms. LION is uniquely positioned to support its members with crisis intervention and defense infrastructure.

Local Independent Online News Publishers Inc. (LION) is a membership organization that serves nearly 600 digital news providers in mostly small and midsize markets. As a part of their Sustainability 360 program, LION provides 20 newsrooms with resources, training, coaching, and assessment tools. LION also funds 15 newsrooms with a total of $100,000 each over two years. The goal is to develop resources and tools to benefit LION’s entire membership and to continue to iterate and learn to develop new products and services.
