Korea University’s Ilmin International Relations Institute (IIRI) was founded in 1995 with the purpose of methodically researching the International Relations and regional problems affecting the world and the Asia-Pacific region. Through this grant, IIRI comprehensively examines the various impacts of a possible North Korean state collapse and makes recommendations for regional and international responses to deal with such a situation. IIRI conducts its research in partnership with scholars based at institutes throughout Asia and holds workshops in China and Japan, as well as Russia and the United States, to bring together regional scholars to share regional perspectives and collaborate on draft papers and policy recommendations.
