Founded in 2016, Jobs to Move America (JMA) is a national and multi-regional strategic policy, research, and organizing center with offices in Birmingham, Chicago, Jackson, Los Angeles, and New York. JMA has developed and won innovative public contracting policies at the federal, state, and local levels that have shaped emerging cleantech industries in the United States. JMA has also pioneered the use of community benefits agreements (CBAs) in the industrial space and, in concert with the adopted policies, has built coalitions and campaigns in regions where cleantech factories are located. The result is the achievement of historic CBAs with major companies. The beneficiaries of these agreements are historically marginalized people and communities, including people who are justice-system impacted and women workers.
