The International Peace Institute (IPI) is an independent, non-profit organization working to strengthen inclusive multilateralism for a more peaceful and sustainable planet. Through its research, convening, and strategic advising, IPI provides innovative recommendations for the United Nations System, member states, regional organizations, civil society, and the private sector. This X-Grant supports IPI to host a convening to foster peer-to-peer learning and to build cross-national communities of support for peacebuilders.

For research on implementing "The Responsibility to Protect"in the United Nations system (over two years).
For policy research on the role of the United Nations in addressing terrorism.
To support research on peacebuilding (over four years).
To support research on peacemaking and peacebuilding, and to expand the Africa Program on conflict resolution (over two years).
To strengthen fundraising capacity and to broaden the base of financial support (over three years).
To support a conference on conflict resolution and peacekeeping in Central Europe and the former Soviet Union.
To support training seminars, public forums, and a project on peacemaking in the Middle East (over two years).
To support research for the training programs of the U.N. peacekeeping forces.
