The Global Network Initiative (GNI) is a unique collaboration of companies in the information, communication, and technology (ICT) sector; human rights and press freedom NGOs; investors; and academics who engage in shared learning and promote policies that support human rights. Through its work, GNI aims to seed a global standard for corporate responsibility and accountability in the ICT sector, with a particular focus on advancing freedom of expression and privacy. The grant provides general operating support to the organization.
