Fund for a Safer Future

Established in 2011, the Fund for a Safer Future (FSF), a project of Global Impact, is a funder collaborative that works to reduce gun violence in the United States by supporting evidence-based programs and policies at the local, state, and federal levels. It also provides a platform for funders interested in solving America’s gun violence crisis to convene, collaborate, and co-invest. This award contributes to: 1) FSF Community Violence Intervention rapid response fund that protects, builds, and fortifies recent gains in the field; and 2) FSF Firearms Research fund that supports an array of research projects ranging from evaluations of community violence programs to understanding the effectiveness of extreme risk protection orders.

It does this by uplifting voices from the global majority to prioritize equity, inclusivity, power sharing and joint campaigning. The award provides flexible support to Digital Action as it aims to address the impacts of Big Tech platforms and artificial intelligence technologies on the people and places furthest away from corporate power.
