The El Paso Community Foundation (EPCF) has served as a grantmaker, convener, and leader in the region for over 45 years. The organization and its leadership are dedicated to supporting high quality local news and information along the U.S.-Mexico border region. As such, EPCF is undergoing a strategic planning process to solidify the El Paso Press Forward local chapter and define its relationship with the Puente News Collaborative (a regional editorial collaborative).
The El Paso Community Foundation (EPCF) has served the binational Borderlands region for 45 years, providing grants, programs, and community leadership across the U.S.-Mexico border. EPCF will establish a time-bound, non-endowed donor-advised fund (DAF) that creates a dedicated funding mechanism through which MacArthur provides grant recommendations in consultation with EPCF for supporting journalism efforts recognized as charitable, including job training and mentorship programs, educating the public on the accuracy and fairness of news coverage, and journalism that addresses critical educational and cultural information needs in border communities.
To support efforts to reduce the legal and administrative impediments to cross-border grantmaking among Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
