Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance in Chicago

The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) provides free support services to promote wellness and equitable treatment for people living with mental health conditions. Its Peer Apprenticeship Program is aimed at addressing the mental health needs of military veterans in the Chicago area. The program trains military veterans from historically marginalized communities to become Peer Support Specialists equipped with skills and knowledge to offer peer-to-peer support workshops and services to veterans with disabilities such as mental health conditions and substance abuse disorders. With this award, DBSA representatives attend the National Association of Peer Supporters annual conference.
