Crisis Action, founded in 2003, works to protect civilians from armed conflict and prevent mass atrocities. Its model involves coalition building and collaboration to coordinate partners behind the scenes to bring together a range of organizations and individuals to protect vulnerable people. This gift provides general operating support to Crisis Action to conduct its activities.
Crisis Action’s mission is to develop and use new models of global collaboration to stop and prevent gross human rights violations and protect civilians from conflict. The award provides general support to the organization as it works to: address the increasing risk of human rights violations for civilians in conflict zones; combat the erosion of international norms designed to protect civilians in conflict; and, push back against the rising tide of far-right populism that has been growing across Western countries that have traditionally taken the lead in stopping and preventing gross human rights violations.
The grant will support Crisis Action’s efforts to help avert conflicts, prevent massive human rights abuses, and ensure that governments fulfill their obligations to protect civilians.
