Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB) is a Nigerian for-profit innovation center. CcHUB is dedicated to accelerating the application of social capital and technology for economic prosperity in Africa. It has offices in Kenya, Nigeria, Namibia, and Rwanda, and has worked in over 18 African countries. Previous funding for CcHUB under the Girls Secondary Education program supported students and schools to use technology to enhance learning. With this award, CcHUB supports the Ministry of Communication, Innovation, and Knowledge Economy and its agency, the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), to develop and implement policies and pilot projects that address the challenges of access, affordability, inclusion, and gender violence in broadband service. CcHUB works with a technical advisor to the Minister, USPF, and other critical stakeholders to implement this project.
Co-Creation Hub (CC-Hub) Nigeria is a social innovation center dedicated to accelerating the application of social capital and technology for economic prosperity in Nigeria. The premier innovation hub in Lagos is incubating creative technology ventures for addressing social problems such as a learning platform called 'Efiko'. With a previous evaluation affirming the role of technology-based solutions to education and the potential contributions of Efiko as effective tech-based learning tool, CC-Hub is working to improve the role technology in learning science, technology and math. CC-HUB supports computer-assisted teaching and learning for secondary school girls in Jigawa, Kano and Lagos states through: (1) collaborative design of teaching content for computer laboratories; (2) training and mentoring computer-assisted teachers and facilitators; (3) fostering a community of practice for teachers schooled in computer-assisted teaching; and (4) supporting multi-stakeholder advocacy to promote quality technology for education. This terminal award contributes to improved student learning and generates further evidence to support demand for technology in education in Nigeria.
The Co-Creation Hub, a technology innovation lab located in Lagos State, Nigeria, will pilot EFIKO, a mobile phone application that provides content and quizzes students on subject matter at the secondary education level, tied directly to Nigeria’s national curriculum. EFIKO provides an interactive learning platform designed to improve learning outcomes by giving girls access to educational resources that extend beyond the capacities and limitations of their school or community.
