Chicago Women in Philanthropy (CWIP) was established in 1981 at a time when philanthropic dollars disproportionately supported men and boys, leaving women and girls underfunded and underrepresented. CWIP commissioned research and publications highlighting these disparities and opened up a citywide dialogue on how to create connections and foster change to build better communities. Over 40 years later, CWIP is still intent on creating community in ways that bring philanthropic and social sector leaders together to address critical topic areas and needs in the field. CWIP works to create an equitable, inclusive, and connected social sector in Chicago. This X-Grant supports CWIP and its networking, convening, mentorship, and other professional development programming.
