CARE is an international humanitarian organization working in over 100 countries to empower women and girls as a central strategy for creating lasting change. CARE's programs address food security, clean water, health care, education, and economic development, while responding to disasters and conflicts with urgent aid. By partnering with local communities, governments, and other organizations, CARE tackles the root causes of poverty and promotes sustainable, equitable development worldwide. Through the Impact Alliance, a strategic collaboration with Mercy Corps and Save the Children, CARE is working to reimagine how the international development and humanitarian sectors achieve sustainable, locally led impact, building shared tools, infrastructure, and evidence across six collaborative workstreams. This gift provides CARE with general support at a critical moment, as humanitarian organizations worldwide pivot toward greater sustainability and efficiency amid significant global funding shifts.

To research climate change and its impact on migration (over two years).

In support of humanitarian response to the tsunamis in Asia and to meet humanitarian needs in Darfur and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In support of community management of coastal zone resources and marine biodiversity in Madagascar’s Masoala peninsula (over three years).

To support research on the use of religious teachings to strengthen community-based marine conservation in Tanzania (over two years).
