This grant will be used to produce Financing the 2012 Election, a book that will provide a thorough, data-driven analysis of how the federal elections were financed this year. The book will be edited by David Magleby, written by leading researchers and academics in the field of campaign finance, and published by the Brookings Institution Press. The book is a continuation of a series that has been published by the Brookings Institution since 1960, and edited by David Magleby since 2000.
