Borno Coalition for Democracy and Progress (BOCODEP)

Founded in 1993 but registered in 2023, the Borno Coalition for Democracy and Progress (BOCODEP) promotes human rights, women's rights, good governance, media development, peacebuilding, environment, and health. BOCODEP's recent past work includes a partnership with Conciliation Resources of the UK to undertake peacebuilding activities working across generations and genders with the disability community, youth and older people, security forces, state government agencies, and traditional institutions. With this award, BOCODEP strengthens women's voices and participation in matters of anti-corruption and accountability affecting their communities. The project contributes to On Nigeria's goal of reducing corruption and fostering gender equity and social inclusion, and enhances the participation of marginalized voices. It also builds community accountability practices and strengthens the wider ecosystem as the On Nigeria program ends.
