Founded in 1992, Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Chicago (AAAJC) advocates for an America where all Americans can benefit equally from and contribute to the American dream. Its mission is to advance the civil and human rights of Asian Americans and build and promote a fair and equitable society for all. AAAJC utilizes convenings, leadership development, and advocacy to ensure that diverse voices throughout Chicagoland are represented wherever policy and public opinion affect communities.

The organization educates immigrants and their families on changes to law and policy that may render some subject to deportation, and on to bars on entry to the United State for refugees and individuals from certain nationals. It helps Asian American residents of the Chicago area understand their legal rights, obtain legal screening, and prepare emergency plans.
