To support Making Schools Work for Children in Poverty: Part III, and other follow-up activities to the reauthorization of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (over two years).
To complete and disseminate the report of the Commission on Chapter 1, relevant to the revision and reauthorization of the federal government's main program for helping improve children's basic academic skills, and to stimulate public discussion (over two years).
To expand (from 225 to 750) and institutionalize the International Academic Alliance movement.
To support features of the conference "Schools and Colleges: Toward Higher Performance," including special presentations, a high school partnership program, technology demonstrations, audio-conferencing, and celebrations of "partnerships in reform."
