ALIVE Early Growth Fund II LP, an $80-million private equity fund that is a successor to the Acumen Latin America Early Growth Fund LP, is helping bridge significant capital gaps for early-stage, high growth small- and medium-sized enterprises in targeted countries in Latin America, principally Colombia and Peru. It tackles economic inequality and drives positive impact by investing in companies that are leveraging technology and/or other innovations in four sectors: (i) education and pathways to quality jobs, (ii) sustainable income generation opportunities, (iii) access to critical products and services, and (iv) solutions for climate resilience and mitigation. Impact metrics are embedded within the manager’s carried interest compensation, and a strong gender lens is applied throughout the investment process, including due diligence.
