The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD) is a leading Nigerian nonprofit and think tank for strategic leadership and sustainable development in Africa. A founding member of the civil society network on Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Nigeria, Center LSD used its previous Foundation award to support the active involvement of civil society in developing and tracking Nigeria's first OGP National Action Plan (NAP), advocating for states to adopt it, and producing a shadow report on the performance of the NAP. With renewed support, Centre LSD is strengthening the OGP in Nigeria. It is tracking implementation of Nigeria's second NAP and providing technical assistance to improve the legal framework and remove administrative bottlenecks. It supports critical stakeholder groups involved in the implementation of the NAP, including the national steering committee and thematic working groups, and enables active civil society involvement in state-level adoption, implementation, and tracking of the OGP. Centre LSD is coordinating with other Foundation grantees to implement this project. The award is expected to contribute to On Nigeria's goal of reducing corruption and strengthening accountability, transparency, and participation.
