African American Museum of the Performing Arts

Founded as a nonprofit in 2019, the mission of the African American Museum of the Performing Arts (AAMPA) is to study, memorialize, and present works that celebrate the experience of Black performance through the perspective of African American performing artists. With this award for professional development, AAMPA engages consultants to establish a new cultural center in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago.
