Jamie Waters

Jamie Waters leads communications strategy for the Philanthropy Field Support Program and implements communication strategies across Foundation programs and initiatives through research, writing, media relations, and digital content creation.

Prior to joining MacArthur, Jamie was Associate Editor and Communications Coordinator at the Newberry Library, where she advanced the mission of public humanities through social media, PR, web and print publications, and video and audio content. She previously served as a Research Assistant at the University of Chicago and as a Higher Education Fellow in the Department of Art History managing the Chicago Object Study Initiative in partnership with the Art Institute of Chicago. Earlier in her career, she managed internal communications and taught writing at an education center in Hong Kong and served as an instructor at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey.

She received her AB in comparative religion with a language citation in Arabic from Harvard University and her MA in Humanities from the University of Chicago.
