Jennifer manages communications for the Foundation’s programs in Human Rights, Impact Investments, and Journalism & Media.
Jennifer is a seasoned public relations professional with more than 15 years of experience in government and media affairs. Prior to joining MacArthur, she served as Senior Deputy Press Secretary for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. In that role, she managed the launch of One Chicago, a multimedia public education campaign to change the negative narrative surrounding immigrant communities. She also helped grow the Office of the First Lady of Chicago, which included developing a public engagement strategy with more than 50 local churches to better serve their congregations. Previously, Jennifer served as Press Secretary for the NATO Summit in Chicago, which required ongoing coordination with The White House, U.S. State Department, NATO, and city agencies. Jennifer also brings private sector experience to the Foundation, having worked locally for Fannie Mae and CNA Insurance. At CNA, she managed external communications across business units and developed a trade-specific, editorial calendar to gain positive exposure for the company.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Marquette University and has completed coursework toward a Master’s degree at the University of Illinois.
